Thank you for the feedback, and support.

Aramaki,

In my opinion, I believe that ANET would probably not implement this concept armor anytime soon, in the near future, why? Because there is simply not enough support and demand for it yet.

More storage space would defintely resolve some of the issues regarding armor storage.

However, what is being proposed in here is more than a solution to an issue of limited armor space storage capacity. It is a chance for ANET to further improve Guild Wars, to be make it into a better, much more unique game.

We already have freedom of attribute distribution with the abolishment of refund points, why not take a step further, and achieve freedom of armor statistics customization?

Being able to adjust the stats and runes of our armors as we see fit, just as how we adjust our attributes to our liking.

True, ANET would probably not implement this, but they might consider it if there is like a massive amount of support and demand for this idea.

Until an ANET representative comes and posts in this thread, telling me to stop working on this idea, as ANET would never implement this kind of idea, I will continue to work on it.

Peace.

Looks like this becomes more and more a good idea as time goes on......unfortunately the likelihood of A.Net programming anything this cool is less than inspiring.

I'll /sign this again but I lose more and more faith in A.Net every update. I think they are too busy nerfing things people find good uses for to actually add in something new that would be useful

Again, thanks for the support, Beat_Go_Stick, much appreciated.

Well, we as part of the community of Guild Wars players in GuildWarsGuru can only do our part by voicing out, by expressing ourselves, by letting known our desires.

ANET would consider implementantion if there is a tremendous amount of interest, demand and support for any kind of new ideas.

Various successful stories include:
- abolishment of refund points
- titles
- more

Its a cool idea, but really, I think we should just push adding more storage space. It would be FAR easier for the developers to do, and would let you save the storage space as you say.

I agree that by give us more storage it would solve some of the storage issues caused by having too many sets of armor, but it would be much more cooler to be able to change the stats and runes of our armor on the fly, instead of having to run back and forth to the storage.

Plus wouldn't it make Guild Wars stand out better as an unique game?
What other games out there let you change your armor statistic on the fly?
Would not we want Guild Wars to evolve further into a much more unique game?

Removed the 1st proposed method, revised the 2nd proposed method.
The 2nd proposed methods seems to be the way how ANET handles certain new upgrades now, for example the crafting materials storage.
Slighty revised proposed method of implemetationg:

Proposed method of implementating this idea:
- A series of multi-tiered quest exclusive-only in future chapters
- Would allow our character's Armor to be upgraded
- Armor gain the ability to add in additional stats and runes
- Change into different stats, runes when desired
- Can only change while in towns or outposts

I must say, this idea deserves my signature for the arguments of the OP alone. Quite the debater. But I'm not signing just out of respect for argumentative abilities, this is a very handy gold-sink/high end tool that saves you storage space.

/signed

P.S. It would be nice if you could add dyes to it and be able to recall a certain colour you applied to that specific piece of armour, but only if it's a non mixed colour. PvP characters can do whatever colour armour for free, PvE characters should only have to do a one-time purchase of dyes in the same manner. (Again, mixed dyes would not work with this function! You would have to purchase dyes to mix with and once you apply it you can either keep it or lose it.)

Thread revival, because I wanted feedback from the community.

Ristaron,

Thank you for the support, much appreciated.
Regarding dyes and colours, the original concept for this "Essence Armor" is that it has both the asthetic and stats changing function, but that idea is shot down by Embodiment of Gaia with reasons such as "creating more oppurtunity for people to buy E-Bay gold", "simply a rich gimmick for rich players", "upset, destroy the economy", etc blah blah blah.

I guess that it is impossible to please everyone.

As members of the Guild Wars community, I believe we can only present our ideas and opinions regarding them, the implementation is of course, at ANET's discretion.

Can I get more feedback from the community in here?

This idea, or concept armor has gone through several revisions due to the feedback received in this thread.

Revisions to the idea will not do much good if there is no feedback from the community.

Feedback requested.
Thank you.

This is a post of appreciation to ANET.

Although the ideas proposed in this topic of discussion is not entirely implemented into Guild Wars, but Armor Insignias was introduced with the release of NightFall, along with the introduction of the PvP Equipment Builder feature.

Part of the Guild Wars players community always wanted the ability to modify the stats of their armors, now they would have that chance.

Thank you, ANET, for listening, as always.
Cheers.

Yeah, insignas kind of make this obsolete. It also makes armor storage obsolete, since theoretically you can now get by with just one set of armor.
